The following are questions which are often asked... just click on the question to view the answer. If you don't find the answer you are looking for, please feel free to contact us

Q:  What kinds of bands or orchestras can be listed on the BandMusic directory?

A:  All kinds... from marching bands, military bands, pipe bands, drum and bugle bands, through concert bands and wind ensembles, to jazz or swing bands, symphony orchestras, or chamber or baroque ensembles... in short, any musical group that draws its membership from the local community.

Q:  What does it cost to be listed on BandMusic?

A:  A basic listing is FREE for all community musical ensembles. A supporting membership is also available for a very reasonable fee, providing better marketing opportunities and more features. In short, by supporting BandMusic, we can better help support your organization!

More information is available here.

Q:  My group is in the U.S., but I don't see any American listings. Can we still be listed?

A:  There is a separate site just for American groups at www.bandmusic.org - and yes, you can be listed there!

Q:  Is advertising allowed on BandMusic?

A:  No. We believe that a member-supported service will achieve better results than soliciting advertising. BandMusic is supported by the member organizations who have subscribed to the supporting membership. We don't use or alow banner ads, popups, pop-unders, or any other advertising techniques that many Internet users find annoying.

Q:  Our band is listed, but we don't know how or why. How do we update our information?

A:  If you don't know who listed you, perhaps your listing came from one of the many public lists of bands or orchestras that are available on the Internet (actually, that's where most of the listings originally came from). Please identify yourself to us using the contact form, so we can supply you with a user ID and password that you can use to update your information.

More information is available here.

Q:  Our band is listed, but only shows a phone number. Why doesn't our e-mail address or website link show?

A:  You are probably a basic member; only one piece of contact information will be shown. If you upgrade to a supporting membership, you can list many details - your rehearsal location, concert dates, dues, website, audition requirements, and more! That's the plus to being a supporting member - support us, and we'll help support you through better marketing!

Q:  We have a special need, or a question that doesn't seem to be addressed here. Help!
